Something our class has grown to love is Fact Fluency Friday. Strengthening our skills by playing a couple rounds of addition/subtraction Knockout this afternoon!

CONFERENCES ARE "AMONG US!"

Picture
Fall Conferences are "Among Us!" The window for the 2021-2022 school year is October 12th - October 29th. If you'd like to discuss your child's progress, please choose a date/time from this Sign-Up Genius (this link will also be posted to my website under the "Parent" tab). You'll be able to indicate whether you'd prefer a phone, video, or in-person conference. Please note that if you would prefer an in-person conference, you must choose a slot after 3pm. I am looking forward to discussing your child's progress with you soon!

50TH DAY CELEBRATION!

Wednesday, October 20th is our 50th Day of School Celebration! We will be celebrating 50 fabulous days of learning by dressing up in our best 50s attire. It is not required that students dress up, but we would love to see a lot of participation!

Here are some great costume ideas. Remember to keep it fun and simple.
We are so excited to see everyone's costumes!

IREADY News!

Picture
2nd grade was recognized this week for having the most iReady minutes logged as a grade level, and we couldn't be prouder! As a reward for our hard work, we have a very special guest, Shelley the dolphin, joining our class for the next few days. Thanks, Mrs. Noles, for the special delivery!

Also, for each week that the whole class logs 45+ minutes, the class earns a part of an ice cream sundae cut-out. Once all the pieces of the sundae are earned, the class will earn a special ice cream party! Of course, I will notify you ahead of time so you can let me know whether your child can participate or that you'd like to send in an alternative. We are SO close to earning the waffle cone this week - let's log those minutes!

"SOCKTOBER" IS HERE!

Dear Dolvin Families,

It is time for one of our FAVORITE giving opportunities! "Socktober" is a yearly sock-giving event that takes place in October to help others in need.

When:  September 27, 2021 to October 15, 2021
What:  Please send in new, unused socks (in child and adult sizes) with your child to give to their homeroom teacher.
Who:  The socks will be donated to the Gateway Center in Atlanta, and the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell.
Celebrate: There will be a little friendly competition between classrooms and grade levels as we announce weekly totals.
Let’s show our support and have fun at the same time!

Last week, our class collected over 50 pairs of socks! You all are #DolvIncredible!

Thanks for your support!
