Conferences are "among us!"
50th Day celebration!
THANK YOU! IREADY REMINDERI’ve had many questions regarding at-home practice since we don’t have homework in 2nd grade. I wanted to encourage the use of iReady - a program purchased by Fulton County that can be accessed on any device through Classlink. Students took a diagnostic assessment in both reading and math at the beginning of the school year to determine areas of mastery and areas for growth in both subjects. With this information, the program created a personalized learning path just for your child based on his/her needs. This is an EXCELLENT source of differentiated instruction that is geared specifically toward helping your child progress and develop understanding! Our goal as a county is to have students complete lessons on their individualized learning path for 45 minutes in reading and 45 minutes in math each week. We are completing some of that time during rotations in the classroom; however, your child is more than welcome to complete additional practice at home to help them reach their weekly goal in both subject areas. If your child chooses to complete lessons at home, please try your best not to assist them. The reason for this is that the more lessons they master, the more challenging the assignments become. If you child is stuck because the content is too difficult and you share answers with him/her, it will continue to assign assignments that are too difficult. If your child is stuck, please encourage him/her to take a break and shoot me an email. I will take a look in the platform to see what domain they’re working in and see what I can do to guide them down a path that will allow them to be more successful. I am here for support! "SOCKTOBER" IS HERE!Dear Dolvin Families, It is time for one of our FAVORITE giving opportunities! "Socktober" is a yearly sock-giving event that takes place in October to help others in need.
