Our larva have arrived! We are so fortunate to be able to witness the buttery life cycle during our last science unit!​
"A" is for paper airplanes and ​appreciation letters! 

This WEEK, WE are learning...

  • Reading
    • 2.RL.1   Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.​​
      • We will take a minor assessment over this standard this week (a completion grade for the remainder of our novel study assignments).
      • We will take a major assessment over this standard this week to wrap-up our novel studies.
  • Writing
    • ELAGSE2W3   Write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
    • ELAGSE2L1.f   Produce, expand, and rearrange complete simple and compound sentences (e.g., The boy watched the movie; The little boy watched the movie; The action movie was watched by the little boy).
  • Grammar

uplifting ukraine

As a school community, we would like to collect items that are currently needed by Ukrainian refugees in Romania. We are partnering with One Heart Church in Norcross who will ship the donated items overseas. If you would like to contribute, here are the items currently needed:
  • towels
  • toothpaste
  • toothbrushes
  • socks
  • thermos bottles
  • backpacks
  • blankets
  • pencils
  • school supplies
  • spiral notebooks

Additionally, we’d like to prepare drawstring bags of items for children specifically. They will/could include:
  • coloring books
  • crayons (8 pack)
  • small stuffed animal
  • mini pop-its
  • travel sized tissue
  • grooming kit (brush, comb, hair bands, etc.)

Collection will take place from April 25th through May 6th, and we will have donation bins at several locations around the building. Thank you in advance for supporting our global village!
