  • Reading
    • 2.RL.1   Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.​
  • Writing
    • ELAGSE2W3   Write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
    • ELAGSE2L1.f   Produce, expand, and rearrange complete simple and compound sentences (e.g., The boy watched the movie; The little boy watched the movie; The action movie was watched by the little boy).
  • Grammar 
    • ELAGSE2L2   Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
    • ELAGSE2L2.b   Use commas in greetings and closings of letters.
  • Phonics ​

  • Math 
    • Unit ​2.6 - On Level - Please click here for the unit 6 parent letter. 
      • MGSE2.OA.3   Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an odd or even number of members, e.g., by pairing objects or counting them by 2s; write an equation to express an even number as a sum of two equal addends.
    • ​Unit 3.3 - Advanced - Please click here for the unit 3 parent letter.
      • MGSE3.OA.9   Identify arithmetic patterns (including patterns in the addition table or multiplication table), and explain them using properties of operation. For example, observe that 4 times a number is always even, and explain why 4 times a number can be decomposed into two equal addends.​​
        • We will take a minor assessment over this standard next week.
      • MGSE3.MD.3   Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step "how many more" and "how many less" problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
  • Social Studies
    • S2L1.b ​  Plan and carry out an investigation of the life cycle of a plant by growing a plant from a seed and by recording changes over a period of time.
    • S2L1.d   Develop models to illustrate the unique and diverse life cycles of organisms other than humans.
      • We will take a minor assessment over this standard next week.
    • S2E3.b   Construct an explanation of the causes and effects of a change to the environment in your community.
